 | | BOUDOIR HISTORY
Boudoir - pronounced bŏo dwăawr comes from late 18th century French word and is translated as - a woman’s bedroom or a private sitting room. Historically, the boudoir formed part of the private suite of rooms of a lady, for bathing and dressing, adjacent to her bedchamber, being the female equivalent of the male cabinet. Boudoir photography, therefore, usually takes place in a similar intimate setting to create classy images that can be soft, romantic, sexy, sensual, or naughty. Boudoir photography refers to images that have themes of romance, sensuality, and flirtation. The main focus of a boudoir photographer is to capture you in the most flattering way by guiding you through the poses that compliment your body type.
It is not necessary to be nude or revealing in female boudoir photography. It has more to do with an attitude or state of mind than the state of dress or undress. The primary ideas conveyed in female boudoir photography are love, affection, romance, and giving. Female Boudoir Photography is almost always done in the studio with a bedroom setting using tasteful and classy props to enhance the feeling of romance and richness. PicSeeDust Photography uses subtle lighting, sensual boudoir poses, and a comfortable boudoir studio atmosphere to help put you at ease and to bring out that sexy you for your Boudoir photography Session.
In the early 1900's, boudoir pictures were sometimes given as a gift from a wife to her husband on what were often long business trips by rail and boat. This practice was revived during the vietnam war when many of the young soilders would also recieve such pictures from their girlfriend, fiance or young wife...A little token to remind him of what awaited him at home.
Today, boudoir photography has regained popularity. The current state of the art form is still something personal and women are still getting it done for their partners but increasingly, they get it for herself to remind herself how sexy she really is.
